Music and contemporary art on the March cultural agenda

At Illeslex Abogados we closely follow the cultural agenda of our islands, and we share in this space some of the most outstanding events. In this sense, March is a special month, as there is activity both in terms of music and contemporary art.

We start with music, and especially with the concert schedule of the Orquesta Sinfónica de las Islas Baleares (Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands). On the 11th of March it will perform in Palma's Trui Teatre, playing W.A. Mozart's Piano Concerto Number 22 K482 and P.I. Tchaikovsky's Symphony Number 6, OP 74, with Tille Fellner at the piano and conducted by Joji Hattori.

One week later, on the 18th of March, and in Palma's (Teatro Principal, the Family Concert will take place, whose programme includes "Peter and the Wolf", by S. Profokiev, and "A Soldier's Tale", by I. Stravinsky, conducted by Pablo Urbina.

The activity of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra will continue on the 25th, this time under the baton of Pablo Mielgo in the Trui Teatre, with a programme featuring Les Nuits d'Été, OP 7, by Héctor Berlioz, and Symphony Number 9 "La Grande" D. 944 by Franz Schubert, with soprano Nuria Rial. The concert will be repeated the following day, this time in the Auditorium of Manacor.

The cultural agenda on the island will also be marked in March by the Art Palma Brunch, organised by the Art Palma Contemporani Gallery Owners' Association. It will take place on the 20th of March, with a programme adapted to the existing restrictions due to the pandemic, and the 10 galleries that form part of the association (Galería Pelaires, Kewenig, Xavier Fiol, Pep Llabrés, ABA, Fran Reus, Horrach Moyà, CCA Andratx and Maior Pollença) will open the programmed exhibitions to the public at the same time.
